work surface in a laminar or unidirectional air stream. The main function is to
make sure the accuracy of experiment at the operating area, so it is only for
sample protection. However, it could not protect the environment or operators.
It is enclosed on the sides and kept under constant positive pressure to
prevent the infiltration of contaminated room air.
